#44 My Christmas Nails!

Eee, I'm such a lazy person T_T Sorry for the lack of updates! Anyway to make up for it, here are pics of my christmas nails!!! :D

2011 Christmas Nails
Mix and match, but keeping a very christmassy colour scheme! (Red and green reminds me so much of Christmas!) The green I'm holding in this picture is American Apparel Malibu Green, which is the same green I used for the Xmas tree and my index finger!

2011 Christmas Nails 2
My left hand (aka the hand painted using my dominant hand) From left to right:
Index finger: AA Malibu Green with 2 coats of China Glaze Party Hearty, the ultimate Xmas glitter ever created!!
Middle finger: China Glaze Snow, stamped with Konad plate m59 using Konad Special polish in Red. Dabbed some China Glaze Fairy Dust on the ribbon and the silver outline was done using Etude House French Manicure striper in silver glitter.
Ring finger: Sheer pink base using OPI It's A Girl, followed by freehanding a triangle using AA Malibu Green. Silver glitter was from the Etude House French Manicure polish, and added a rhinestone in place of a star on the top! Heh!
Pinky: Essie Red Nouveau with China Glaze Snow, dotted using a dotting tool.

Ain't that a mouthful! It seems like hardwork doesnt it..! The mani took quite long but only because I didnt know what to paint on my nails! I actually started with my thumbs first and then I just sat on my chair and I had to slowly think of what to do for the rest of my fingernails.

2011 Christmas Nails 3
Left hand thumb! I followed the tutorial here. It is such a cute idea! Christmas sweater nails! :D I came across the image from tumblr and I went to check out the tutorial and I was super lucky cos I had the same Konad image plates! So I could recreate the design. Happy!

2011 Christmas Nails 4
And my right hand! Its basically the same design as my left hand!

2011 Christmas Nails 5
Right hand thumb. A little bit smudged! Pretend like you didnt see it okay???

My favourite is the christmas tree!! I was inspired by this image on tumblr! It looks so pretty and festive that I knew I had to try and recreate that look! Added some silver glitter as the tinsel and omg, you know what, Xmas tree nails are the cutest things ever!

Hope you enjoyed this longass post! Haha happy holidays people!

#43 A new look..?

Hi everybody! I just fiddled around with my blog template. I did the header myself btw ^^ Took a picture of 12 glittery polishes, did some photoshop mojo and that's what I ended up with. I'm still on the fence with this one, I only like the header but I'm not really feeling the rest! :-/ But its definitely better than the previous template, which was really childish lol! We'll see how it goes, just gonna stick with this one for now till inspiration hits me!

#42 Cupcake Tutorial

Hihihi, my exams are finally over!! And my dear fonfon posted about my blog on hers T_T Quite paiseh but she is so cute~ Anyway!! I did a new tutorial today cos I was feeling bored at home!! Cupcake nails! Deceptively difficult-looking nail art that is actually very simple to do~

Cupcake Tutorial

Sally Hansen White StriperEtude House Glitter Hearts
Here are the usual nail polishes I use for most of my nail arts! The white striper I use is from Sally Hansen. I love it cos the white is super opaque! It came as part of a french manicure set that my sister and I bought a long time ago! Its getting pretty thick now and depleting at an alarming rate T_T Hope they still sell it at Watsons. And the glitter heart top coat is from Etude House! I think it retails for about $5.90 per bottle?? Super worth it!

Doing my nails of the day now~ Guagua suggested doing candy canes so we'll see how they go! Till then, toodles! (Alliteration~)

#41 Rainbow

My exams arent over yet but thought I'd just pop by for a quick update!

Rainbow
My current nail(s)! Did it over the weekend (I've been very lazy these few days T_T I havent done as much studying as I'd like to...) Took this picture after 2 days of wearing it so there's some minor tipwear. Its a pretty cute design which I saw from this super pretty korean nail blog!! I'll do a proper intro after my exams end, which is in about 2 more days. I cant wait!!

Good night people! Hope your day was great~ :>

#40 Zoya + Update

Hi everyone! And would you please look at that, I've gotten myself 15 followers to date! Whoop whoop!!! :D Thanks for following me~ ^^ Forever grateful~~~

Anyway this will be a short update (Time check, its 5.27am now! And I've still got some more things to finish studying! Life of a student!) I've recently obtained some super awesome nail polishes from a secret new year exchange thingamajig! One of the polishes that I received from my secret date is... Zoya Crystal! I've seriously been lemming for her since forever so I was super pleased that I finally got my grubby paws on her!

Zoya Crystal
The elusive right hand makes an appearance. The nail on my middle finger on both my hands broke!!! But the one on my right hand doesnt look as bad as the one on my left so there you have it, a picture of my right hand.

Zoya Crystal 2
Upclose to see the gorgeous golden flecks! This was 2 coats plus top coat! The blue isnt so rich in real life, its more icy and pale. Totally wintry! I love this polish so much. I didnt crave this little bottle for a year for nothing! Its totally worth the hype!

And following this picture is a preview of what is to come!

China Glaze Eye Candy Collection
Dum dum dum! China Glaze's Eye Candy Collection! Also a gift from my secret date!! I'll be swatching these after my exams end! I cannot wait to try them out!!! Have a good week ahead everyone!

#39 Orly Shine with pa aa36

Orly Shine and pa aa36
My nail for this week! Orly Shine with 2 coats of pa aa36! pa aa36 has a rather watery formula, but the bottle colour is so pretty. (And drats, I didn't take a picture of it.) It has holographic glitter and bigger light pink hex glitter in a sheer, smoky black base. I thought it was black glitter but it wasn't the case!

Orly Shine and pa aa36 2
The pa glitter gave Orly Shine a darker tint. Looks a little greyish in certain angles. And the pink glitter add a pretty touch! ^^ I like this combination very much!

On a side note, I've added a few more pages above! You can now see what nail polishes I'm on the lookout for, and what I already have! Plus a little bit more about myself heh! Anyway my exams are coming realllll soon, so I won't be posting as much as I'd like to be! Sigh, can't wait for it to be over so that I can get on with my usual routine!

#38 Scallop Tips

Scallop Nails
Ahoy! This are my nails of the weekend~ I did scallop tips using mint green and white before but my sister said they looked weird -_- I wanted something loud and bright so I used Essie's Nouveau Red and this is just 1 coat! Amazing buttery formula! The silver is Orly's Shine and the black is American Apparel's Hassid.

Scallop Nails (Chanel)
Of course, I found the design a wee bit boring so I spruced it up with a double-c Chanel sticker! Lol!

Scallop Nails 2
The elusive right hand makes an appearance! There's also the Chanel sticker on my thumb, which is not pictured.

Scallop Nails 3
You'd think that if I can paint with my left hand, I'd probably be able to take pictures using my left hand as well, but no!!!!! My left hand was shaking like crazy and it was soooo difficult to get a decent picture! Which is why you have 2 pictures of my right hand!!!

I'm going shopping with my buddies tomorrow! :D We're going to a flea market and I'm going to pick up some (more) nail polishes if I spot any~ Have a good weekend ahead everybody :D

#37 Dior Silver Purple

Dior Silver Purple
Dior Silver Purple. This was a gift from my mum! :> She bought me my first 2 Dior polishes! (I've since swapped away one of them!) Anyway this is my first time using a Dior polish and I have to say, I am impressed! 2 coats for complete opacity and it dried super super fast!

Dior Silver Purple 2
I tried using 2 different cameras and I still couldnt pick up the correct shade of purple. Its more silvery in real life! This is a nice polish to have but its not really my colour >_< Somehow, I just dislike purple polishes (and yet I still buy them..)!

I didnt do much swatching over the weekend and my mani for the week is Make Up Store Greta which I already posted! -_- Its a good thing that my lessons end on thursday, so hopefully I can get home and swatch some polishes for you guys! ^^ Thanks for reading, have a brilliant day (or night) ahead!

#36 OPI Rainbow Connection

I've saved the (second) best for last! Rainbow Connection is an amazing glitterbomb! There are tons of different coloured glitters of varying shapes and sizes! When I first got my bottle of Rainbow Connection, it immediately reminded me of Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday!!!

OPI Rainbow Connection with DL Happy Birthday
I've painted the Lippmann on one of my fingers here. Can you guess which???

OPI Rainbow Connection with DL Happy Birthday (Shown)
Its on my index finger!! Compared to Happy Birthday, I'd have to say that Rainbow Connection is more dense, I think I did 4 coats for Rainbow Connection, and 5-6 for Happy Birthday.

OPI Rainbow Connection with DL Happy Birthday 2
Another major difference between the two is that Rainbow Connection has these hex glitters which are bigger than usual. But then again, from far, I think that they're barely discernible! OPI's Rainbow Connection isn't a dupe for Happy Birthday but its definitely cheaper and easier to find!

#35 OPI Gone Gonzo!

OPI Gone Gonzo!
Gone Gonzo! is exactly like Fresh Frog of Bel Air, except that its blue! Index and middle finger are 4 coats. Ring and pinkie are 2 coats layered over OPI Suzi Says Fengshui!

OPI Gone Gonzo! 2
I actually like this one pretty much. It looks so.. cool and icy. Reminds me of wintertime and snowflakes! Aka perfect for a christmas mani!

OPI Gone Gonzo! 3
Its super sparkly~ I'd expect this to look great over a light blue foil! I guess I need to pick one up soon :>

#34 OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It

OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It
Today I have OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It for you guys! Clear base with red glitter pieces and also red and silver hexagons! Likewise for Fresh Frog of Bel Air, I layered 2 coats over an opaque red (OPI Color So Hot It Berns - Its my to-go red! And my sister loves it! She was the one who made me buy it anyway!) on my ring and pinkie! It was 4 coats on my index and middle finger though!

OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It 2
I think the red hex glitters make it look more opaque than Fresh Frog Of Bel Air so thats a plus point! This might be my second or third favourite out of all that I got. I'll post Gone Gonzo! tomorrow. Its pretty similar to the green one, except that its blue (and a rather pretty shade while you're at that~)

Anyway today is a public holiday in Singapore because its Deepavali! So... Happy Deepavali to everyone! :>

#33 OPI Fresh Frog Of Bel Air

OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air
Today I have OPI's Fresh Frog Of Bel Air from the upcoming Muppets Collection. Green glitter bits and silver hex all in a clear base. I only did 4 coats alone on my index and middle finger and there are still bald spots. I layered 2 coats over OPI Jade Is The New Black on my ring and pinkie. Can't decide which looks better :/

OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air 2
You can see how bald 4 coats look here. These are very much less dense than last year's Burlesque collection. I think the Muppets ones are more for layering! I expected to love this more but alas I didnt. Kinda underwhelmed for this one actually! The name is cute though, I used to watch the show with Will Smith in it! It sure brings back memories!

#32 OPI Excuse Moi!

Hi people~ I've finally gotten my hands on OPI's Muppets Collection!! I got the glittery shades except Divine Swine; Purple is just so not my colour! I really dont fancy it at all.

OPI Excuse Moi!
OPI's Excuse Moi! A pink jelly with loads and loads of different coloured glitter packed into it! At first glance it looks like holographic glitter but if you take a look at the bottle, you'll see all the marvellous multi-coloured glitter in it! This was my favourite out of all that I got! (Surprise surprise!) I didnt expect myself to love this that much! Its my current nail of the week! I just couldnt wait to use it :D

OPI Excuse Moi! 2
Observe, all the colours of the glitter on my nail! The formula was great on this one, opaque in 2 coats but I just did 3 for good measure. It dried to a not-so-glossy finish and I had to use 2 layers of seche vite topcoat (And it is still rather gritty!) But it is so so so so awesome. I love this colour!!!!!

OPI Excuse Moi! 3
Even my mother liked this one! She took a closer look at my fingernails after I painted this one on and complimented me ^^ (Its also a good thing she didnt ask if it was new, phew! I'm supposed to be on a low/no buy!)

OPI Excuse Moi! Bottle Shot
Bottle shot to show you all the glitters. Its so nice to look at eh?? Super festive and cheery! I totally know what's gonna be sporting my tips this holiday season :>

#31 Glow In The Dark Nails

OPI Mermaid's Tears with Hot Topic Glow in the Dark
Hihihi! Something special today! I finally used my Hot Topic Glow In The Dark nail polish! :> First I painted 2 coats of OPI's Mermaid Tears which is a nice dusty green! And then 4 coats of Hot Topic's Glow In The Dark polish. Its super sheer so it's probably best to layer it instead of wearing it alone!

OPI Mermaid's Tears with Hot Topic Glow in the Dark 2
One thing I absolutely loved about the Hot Topic polish is that there's glitter bits in it! So your manicure isnt boring in the daytime, cos there's glittahhh. But I found the brush to be difficult to control. It doesnt really fan out at all! The bristles point in different directions and its super stiff :S Its a good thing this polish is sheer if not I'd have a hard time cleaning up!

OPI Mermaid's Tears with Hot Topic Glow in the Dark 3
In the dark! I held my nails to a light source before I took this pic so it looks like an neon green, but its less intense in real life! It's more mellow but the glow in the dark effect lasts for quite long. I was mesmerized by my nails last night, lol! Was hiding under the covers and looking at them.

Got a mid-term examination on Accounting tomorrow! Wish me luck~

#30 The Tribal Turquoise

Estessimo TiNS The Tribal Turquoise
This is the last of the TiNS nail polishes that I have! And I've saved the best for last! This is The Tribal Turquoise and it is such a gorgeous polish! Glitter suspended in turquoise jelly base. This was 3 coats!

Estessimo TiNS The Tribal Turquoise 2
You can still see a little bit of my nail line but the glitter is to die for!!! I think it looks kinda mermaid-y~ There's iridescent glitter (square ones, if I might add!!) With a little blue glitter thrown in for good measure.

Estessimo TiNS The Tribal Turquoise 3
Bottle shot to show you all the glittery goodness!

Estessimo TiNS The Tribal Turquoise Macro
Upclose to see the colours that the glitters flash. This one is seriously a keeper. Never gonna trade this away ever!

#29 The Happily Ever After

Estessimo TiNS The Happily Ever After
Today I have an awesome red jelly which is loaded with red glitter and iridescent glitter! This is called The Happily Ever After (Weird name, again.!) I do love me some Estessimo TiNS! They're pretty expensive in Singapore; Retails for about $16-18 online. But I found a cheapish place that sells it for 2 for $25! Whee. Sometimes Dollupnails sells it at $10, so you might want to look out for that!

Estessimo TiNS The Happily Ever After 2
This was 3 coats, with no top coat! Dries a little gritty so if you're planning on wearing this for the week, you'll probably need to slap on a thick coat of topcoat to even it out!

Estessimo TiNS The Happily Ever After Macro
Upclose of the nail polish which I swatched on a piece of paper. I had a hard time looking out for what glitters there were! Lol! But yeah, its just red and iridescent glitter, which is so pretty to look at!

I was supposed to post this yesterday but I went over to stay with my sister at her hostel. I was helping her out with her drawing :S It didnt go very well, but it wasnt a complete flop either heh! Anyway, have a good day everyone! :>

#28 The Power Sparkler

Estessimo TiNS The Power Sparkler
Today's swatch is Estessimo TiNS' The Power Sparkler! It really does live up to its name :D It has gold shimmer, gold glitter and holographic hex glitters suspended in a clear base. This was about 3 coats and my vnl is still quite obvious!

Estessimo TiNS The Power Sparkler 2
I'm guessing this would go well over a nice teal creme! I saw Nina Dobrev's in an issue of Seventeen I think? And she had the loveliest nails ever; China Glaze's Custom Kicks with Medallion! I'm guessing this might be a good substitute :>

Estessimo TiNS The Power Sparkler 3
Bottle shot to show its sparkly goodness! I've got 2 more swatches of Estessimo TiNS nail polishes coming up in the next 2 days, so do look out for them! TiNS really does make the best glitter bombs!

#27 Urban Outfitters Afterhours

Urban Outfitters Afterhours
Mid-week post! Urban Outfitters Afterhours, a sparse holographic glitter with some pink glitter thrown in! This was about 5 coats and you can still see my visible nail line. I couldnt really tell it was pink glitter at first?? I thought it was some kind of taupe-ish glitter -_-

Urban Outfitters Afterhours 2
It is super pretty and sparkly in the sun! I love it! Its definitely better as a layering polish, 5 coats and its still not opaque (enough for my liking!)

I've been watching alot of modern family these past few days! It is so funny! I really like the entire cast, they're hilarious! Phil is my favourite cos sometimes he is just so dumb and weird :>

#26 Spangled!!

Etude House Spangle #05, 06 and 07
A few months ago I picked these up from Etude House. They reminded me so much of Milani's Gold which I had such a difficult time finding in USA! These are from the LuciDarling Spangle collection! They're called Dazzling Blue, Dazzling Pink and Dazzling Purple. Haha, the names are kinda uncreative...!? (But the colours are sooo awesome.)

American Apparel Hassid 2
I layered each of them over American Apparel's Hassid, which is a super opaque black creme. I did 1-2 coats. The polish was a little thick though, and I used it just once before! I guess I have to thin it out one day.

American Apparel Hassid 3
Sometimes I feel like it looks like some weird diseased pockmark -_- And sometimes I think they're so pretty and happy looking! Haha, I just can't decide if I like them or not!!

American Apparel Hassid
The dry time on these were great but they dry a little.. matte? Not exactly matte, but a satiny finish which was kinda weird. But nothing a little seche vite can't cure! The Etude House glitter isn't very dense either, I'm guessing it will take more than 4 coats if you want to wear it alone! So there you have it, my spangled nails for the week!

I did some swatches over the weekend and I'm so excited to post them! :D Watch this space!
